A Journey Through the Psalms and Proverbs

Molly King

Molly King

Hi! My name is Molly King. The coolest thing about me might be my dog. His name is Slinky Dogg. Before he came to live with me, he lived on the streets, hence the D-O-double G.

My goal each day is to be less like a crazy dog mom and more like a child of God. I learned how to develop a daily habit of abiding with the Lord in Equipped Disciple, where I am privileged to walk with others as we all learn and practice the foundations of the faith.

Psalm 54

The Lord Upholds My Life

To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Maskil [1] of David, when the Ziphites went and told Saul, “Is not David hiding among us?”

54:1 O God, save me by your name,
and vindicate me by your might.
O God, hear my prayer;
give ear to the words of my mouth.

For strangers [2] have risen against me;
ruthless men seek my life;
they do not set God before themselves. Selah

Behold, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life.
He will return the evil to my enemies;
in your faithfulness put an end to them.

With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you;
I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good.
For he has delivered me from every trouble,
and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies. (ESV)
