Central Truth
God is gracious, and He desires us to live every last drop of our lives as praise to Him.
They will talk about the fame of your great kindness,
and sing about your justice.
The Lord is merciful and compassionate;
he is patient and demonstrates great loyal love.
(Psalm 145:7-8)

Every day I will bless you

One generation shall commend your works to another,

On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.

They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness
and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.

These two lines are supplied by one Hebrew manuscript, Septuagint, Syriac (compare Dead Sea Scroll)
14
The LORD upholds all who are falling
and raises up all who are bowed down.
15
The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food in due season.

you satisfy the desire of every living thing.

The LORD is righteous in all his ways
and kind in all his works.

The LORD is near to all who call on him,

He fulfills the desire of those who fear him;
he also hears their cry and saves them.

The LORD preserves all who love him,
but all the wicked he will destroy.

My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD,

As a middle schooler, I mess up a ton. From not turning in my homework to being unkind to a friend at school, I do it all. But even though what I've done may make ME feel bad, it rocks to know that God doesn't hold grudges and that He loves me a ton. And the best part is that, if we confess our sins to Him, we can still worship God even though we have sinned, because God forgives us and still wants to be in relationship with us. (1 John 1:9) He is also constantly waiting for us to praise Him, one of the things we were made to do.
About a year ago, I signed up for the church worship team. I never realized how much fun it was to praise God through playing guitar. Music is a pretty obvious way to praise God, but there are some less obvious ways in which we can praise God in our everyday lives. Some examples are: giving up a seat at lunch to a new kid, being polite and friendly even when feeling grumpy, donating stuff to orphans or people in need, living in a healthy way because our bodies are temples built by and for God, and being a good sport--whether winning or losing.
Be aware of ways to make everyday life a praise song to our Father!
1. What are some specific ways that God has been compassionate and slow to anger in your own life? Did you feel His grace and love?
2. What are some specific ways that you praised God through your own life in the past week?
3. Make a plan of how you will live your life to praise God in the week to come and hold yourself accountable.
